April 1st, 2008 Meeting

 


Lion Spurgeon gets his Lion back, and Lion Bill is quite happy to see the Lion back in operation.


 
Lion President Alan Guyes wasn't able to find the club gavel and had to substitute as best he could.
 
It was a treat to have a guest visit us all the way from Brussels, WI...Welcome Lion Jim Noll!  Drop in again when you are in the neighborhood.
 


Lion Ken has everyone working their kazoos today.  Even our guest Lion Jim Noll.
 
It is good to see Lion Ann Killenger back in our midst...we've missed you.

 


Lion Secretary JJ gave a great report today...The vocalist we sponsored as a club won out in the regional and will advance to the district.
Our speaker for this meeting was DJ Rakes, Fire Marshall for the City of Roanoke.

 
He gave us some top notch information on fie and smoke detectors as well as CO2 detectors.
 


Officer Rakes informed us that our detectors should be replaced after 10 years.  Very good advice!
 
Lion Mary Ann won the 50/50 draw but failed to draw the "A".  Better luck next time Lion Mary Ann!
Lion Michael Craighead won the  membership draw.


 
Lion  President Alan did announce the slate of officers for the coming year, the list was approved by unanimous vote. All-in-all it was a fine meeting.

As you might notice...at the beginning, I was having problems getting my camera to operate the way I wanted it to operate.		 List of officers will be along later...stay tuned!
